Despite the much hype attached to touch screen mobile phones, users often complain about partial dead screen, slow / none response, while key input has no such problem. They allege that even high end touch screens turn defunct mostly almost after the warranty period and the user has to churn out another Rs 5000/ or more for the screen replacement. Considering all these lacunas is not the key input type better than the touch screen ? Please share your genuine experience.

here's a really good example of how a touch screen would prove handy..!!

imagine u've got a non-touch phone..u hav 897 songs in it...n u want to play d track"my generation"..which is pretty much in the middle of the list...so u gotta keep pressing the down button nearly 444 times to get to dat song..!!!!!or type in the name of the track..!!

but in touch-screen...u can just wizz ur hand on n off d screen n u'll be playin"my generation"..in just a few seconds..

d same goes with messages..!!!

so hey a touch screen proves convenient despite d cons....n these problems only happen when u misuse, buy from d grey market,or some china made phones..>!!

for the most responsive touch..go for lg optimus me p350..!!

n also der's multitouch..which can prove handy in playing 3d games...

Here are my foundings I had a nokia e71, nokia 5230 and blackberry 8520.

Touch screen:

It looks awesome. You can watch movies and videos with ease and enjoy it fully. Web browsing is awesome. Typing takes a little longer because you can't feel the buttons although there is swype(a faster way to type). I've never had a unresponsive screen, in fact it responded very fast. Image browsing is also very enjoyable.

So in short I would say, touch screen you type slower but you enjoy other features like media browsing.

Qwerty:

I enjoy my qwerty keyboard phone chatting, I type very fast but you can hear the buttons on a blackberry(but not nokia qwerty) so I couldn't secretly chat but I responded quickly with a ease. Media browsing isn't so attractive but it works 100%, I would disagree with an answer above, most phones with keypads have a search function, which makes searching for a song faster! Qwerty keyboards usally takes up more power than touchscreens and qwerty keyboards are thicker

So my conclusion is touchscreens are slim and made for media browsing and gaming, their typing is functional and silent. Qwerty keyboard phones are thicker, take more power but chat with ease but make small sounds when typing. If you plan to buy a qwerty phone ask the friend if you can type on their phone just to feel it, nokia and blackberry's layout differ and the nokia's keypad is silent.

I recommend you feel for yourself, ask friends who own touch and keypad phones and try them for a few minutes. Also try different brands because some brand's touchscreens differ from others and vice versa with qwerty.

Hope this was an elaborate explanation, mail me for any questions.

I have a palm pixi. They quite selling them but it has a key pad and it's a touch screen. It's not the best it has problems but they only showed after I replaced it for the sound. I like having key board but having a touch screen is easy.

Which form of cricket is better - test or odi. A classic question you asked here much sound like the above. A genuine question many of us like to ask. The both form of mobile has its benefit and drawback. So let us taste both the flavour. I am for Touch & Type.
