I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase this new OS for my PDA or not? Is it a significant upgrade?

I dont know much about 5.0 but if you know something about linux you may want to find a linix version for it.

I have been using PDA's since the sony magik Link paperweight came out. The latest that I have bought is the iPaq hx2795. It runs windows mobile 5. My previous unit was an iPaq 5455. The new windows mobile 5 (wm5) device has had some issues. I am not sure whether it is the software of the device or the combination of the two. Many areas that I have had problems in the past like wifi connectivity and office application conversions have been solved. I am very satisfied on that front. The media part of it is improved as well.
I have been dissapointed by a problem of the activesync prgram automatically running in the background and stalling my device. I seem to be resetting the device more often than in previous WM versions. It also seems to require 30 - 60 seconds of start-up to actually run. Yes the screen lights but the device does not responds until that time goes by.
With all of this in play I would do my homework looking at this device and others to see if these problems are consistent. If it is I would wait until a few hot fixes or ROM updates are put out.
