Blackberry - pros - 1) multiple models to choose from, different screen sizes, keyboard layouts, so you have more options for finding one that suits how you want to use it. 2) All are lighter than the Treo 650 (under 5 oz, while Treo is right around 6 oz.) and physically less bulky. 3) excellent device for sending/receiving email, and has a good web browser, functional even at dialup speeds. 4) Can interface with blackberry server from wireless carrier or internal corporate blackberry server.

Cons: 1) Except for the 7100 series and the new 8700 series, all are still very wide compared to standard cellphones. 2) doesn't provide its own desktop software - requires connection to Outlook or other program for managing data being synched to it.

Treo 650 - Pros: 1) It just looks cool. 2) Offers choice (at purchase) of having a builtin camera. 3) Provides very good standalone software for managing contacts and calendar, in addition to synching with Outlook.

Cons: 1) email not as good as Blackberry (IMHO). 2) Heavier and bulkier than Blackberry.

A Treo 650, RIM (Research in Motion, the company that owns Blackberry) may be veryberry close to going bankrupt, as they are currently being sued due to some copyright issues... In which case the proprietary RIM Mail service on Blackberries will most likely cease to function. + The Treo 650 is just more powerful :)

BTW: You don't have to get the more-expensive "unlocked" version, it is fairly easy to unlock a carrier-locked phone, if you ever want to switch providers.

I own the Blackberry and LOVE it! It is tough to use as a phone but the web connections are the best:)
