The Treo 700w is going to be offered by Verizon and doesn't have a PUBLIC launch date yet. However, there are very reliable rumors that they will make it available starting January 5, 2006. It will run Windows Mobile 5.0, the first time a Palm device has ever run an operating system other than PalmOS.

Your Mac OS is a bigger issue. Windows Mobile does not support syncing with any Mac OS. If you own a Apple computer, you'll have to seek out third party software to sync the Windows Mobile Treo 700W to your Mac. Luckily for Mac users, there are two companies which currently offer Macintosh sync solutions for Windows Mobile smart phones. PocketMac offers a broad range of sync solutions already to allow Mac users to sync handheld Windows based devices to the Mac platform. The other company is Mark/Space. Their product, Missing Sync, offers Mac-based sync solutions for the Palm OS, Windows and HipTop. The problem is that either company has yet to release a solution for Windows Mobile 5.0. Both have listed their intention to support Windows Mobile 5.0 on their websites, but there is no timetable for the release.
