The Dell Axim X30 PDA repeatedly beats similar, pricier handheld computers, and has a terrific feature set for the price, including Wi-Fi for connecting to the Internet via wireless hot spots. It has a 624MHz Intel processor, 64MB of memory, plus another 64MB flash ROM. The Dell Axim is a Pocket PC PDA, meaning it uses the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system and isn't natively Mac compatible. You can try getting it for cheap on ebay or amazon. Overall it's a pretty good PDA. But it really depends on what features you want and how much you are willing to spend.

I would actually look into getting a Tablet PC. It's like a PDA in that you can write on it, but it's significantly more powerful.

I use the Toshiba M200, which has a 12.1" screen and weighs about 4 pounds. I can use it like a laptop or flip the screen 180 degrees and fold it back down to use it as a tablet.
