Question:
How to restore water damaged iPhone?

So I dropped my iPhone in the pool. It doesn't work anymore. Bought a new phone and all is great. I recently saw on eBay people selling they're broken water damaged iPhones and it caught my eye. One thing that I was wondering though was will the person who buys my phone somehow be able to access everything that was on there? And also do I need to for some reason take out the sim card? Idk if that really matters or not. So overall how do I get this stuff off of there or should I not even be concerned?

Since you already bought a new phone, you can experiment a little.

People have had success by putting their phone in a jar of wild rice, or even plain rice you can buy at the store. Leave it in there for at least a week. The rice soaks up any water and completely dries it out. Yeah I would remove the sim card first, not because it will do any damage to it, but because it will allow air to circulate a little easier inside the phone.

sim card is basically a memory card. ur msgs, contacts n everything is in there. so if they could access to it somehow then yes its a bad idea. phone broken doesnt necessarily mean the sim card inside is broken. its like, ur laptop screen is broken n its completely black, but ur hard drive is unbroken. idk bout iphone, but i remember same thing happen but i could take out the sim card as water wasnt gone very deep inside.

if ur not thinking of selling jst break it. dont sell it actually, as its hard to open iphone for a person who dont know stuff like this, cuz apple designed it in such way that people doesnt open it n mess it up

You can put it in a bag of dry rice.. leave it in there for about 2 days.. that should soak up the water... then maybe it will turn on. People sell their water damaged iPhone because people can buy it for parts... some people build iPhones... or maybe u can try to do something fun with it.... idk use it as a paper weight... LOL
