It really depends on your tastes and your needs.

The BlackBerry 8900 Curve is not going to be a substantial change from what you already have. The Curve is offering new features like advanced media and a new applications store to compete with the iPhone - however its still very much a BlackBerry. The BlackBerry is arguably superior to the iPhone in push email technology... and the fully QWERTY keyboard design is still (IMHO) the best design for thumb typing at the speed of light.

That being said - the iPhone 3Gs is also not a substancial design change from the 3G and much of the advancement is actually in it's software upgrades which are available for the 3G as well. A few differences only - Video, and a better camera. All in all however, the iPhone is designed for casual users rather than business users. It's push email technology - Mobile Me - is not necessarily designed with the business user in mind and rather caters to individuals. Additionally, I still hear user complaints about the virtual keyboard and how hard it can be to type on if you have fat thumbs for instance.

So, in the final analysis I would say that if you are a business class user who emails and texts complete novels on your mobile device, and you want the benefit of a free push email service with your carrier (via BIS) you should probably stick with the BlackBerry.

If, however you are a casual user who is looking for Music, Email (Push with Mobile Me), SMS (texting), Video, and even Games -- well then you will definitely need to switch to the phenomenally cool iPhone! :)

Hardware

iPhone 3G S features video recording, Voice Control, 16GB ($199 with new/upgrade-eligible AT&T Contract, $399 with contract extension) or 32GB ($299 with new/upgrade-eligible AT&T Contract, $499 with contract extension) of storage. It was announced at WWDC 2009.

[edit]Camera

The iPhone 3G S features a 3.0 megapixel autofocus camera that takes pictures and video. The camera automatically adjusts focus, exposure, colour and contrast and includes an automatic macro focus. The camera software also includes a "tap to focus" feature, where users can touch the display to select an object or area of interest, and the camera will automatically re-adjust the focus and exposure of the image. VGA video clips can also be recorded and edited from the iPhone 3G S by utilising the new trimming tool to trim the start and stop points. The phone also allows users to send pictures and video by email or MMS and post them to MobileMe or YouTube.

[edit]Voice Control

The iPhone 3G S has a feature which allows users to interact with the device through speech. For example, Voice Control can be used to dial the phone number of a specific contact, or to find out the name of a song which is currently playing on the device's built in iPod. According to Apple's "Compare iPhones" section, the iPhone 3G will not support Voice Control.

[edit]Digital Compass

The iPhone 3G S features a new digital compass to allow users to see which direction they are heading. Application support will allow users to track which direction they are heading and sync with the built-in GPS to track their path.

[edit]CPU

The CPU runs at 600Mhz and internal memory is now 256 MB. Original Poster has not cited source.

dont get the iphone g3s just because it has an "s" at the end. It may be as fast as a home broadband connection but that will only be if you are like right next to a cell phone tower, as your cellphone signal goes down, the worse the connetion you will have. Basically, 3g s wont be as good as advertised unless you are in lab like conditions. I would get the iphone if I were you though.
