Kindle downloads still "pending"?

Hey guys!

I just got a kindle for xmas and I tried downloading a couple free items/free trial stuff! The newspaper and mag I got a free trial to (the most recent issue) downloaded just fine. But now all the other books I got except 1 are say "pending - 0%" yet it still says "Downloading Items" at the top?!

Is this ok? Should I be worried? They download but don't show the percents I guess is the most weird part. Also, on average how long would you say it takes an average novel or mag/newpaper issue to download?

Thanks for your time! All answers are much appreciated!

Hmm...not sure. I've had a Kindle for a couple of months now and have never had a problem. However, for the last few days, I've not been able to download samples either. Same problem...device only says pending. Also, when I try bringing a book out of archive the device says, "Your download was not successful. Please try again."

I'm wondering if this might be a problem with Kindle's servers? Perhaps there are too many new users (Christmas gifts you know) and the servers are bogged down? I don't know, but it could be the case.

UPDATE: Okay...my problem is solved, hopefully this will solve your issue as well. I posted on amazon's forum and received a resolution within seconds. Try doing a hard reboot of your kindle. It's really simple...simply hold the power switch to the right for 30 seconds (count them) and allow the device to reboot (takes a couple of minutes). Instantly solved my problem. If it doesn't solve yours try to contact Amazon directly...they are very responsive.

PDFs are genuinely an photo record, no longer textual content information. you could zoom in on sections, thereby increasing the textual content length, yet you could not tell it to develop the font length and reformat the textual content wisely to the demonstrate screen.
