Im buying my boyfriend a GPS unit for our anniversary. I am having a hard time deciding since there seems to be a million different kinds. Hes a cop and just started patrolling in a new area and needs something small, portable, that will not have any trouble connecting. I was looking at the Garmin C330 and the Nuvi 350. But I don't know if he will necessarily use all the different things the Nuvi offers.. MP3.. etc. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Garmin but I need something small and reliable. Also I would like to stay under $500 (refurbised)... Any suggestions?

One of the best units around was the Garmin 2620, which has now been discontinued because they have the 2720---which is even better. The 2720 can be purchased on Amazon.com for $486 right now. The retail cost is $800!! I just got a refurbished 2620 about 6 months ago and spent $550....wish I could trade it in for the 2720.

Its a Top Notch GPS! You can't go wrong with it.

This is what I bought for my Pocket PC and I love it...and it comes with the Microsoft Software Streets and Maps

The PT-250 Pocket GPS Navigator from Pharos

is the ideal navigation solution for Windows® Mobile Based Devices like Pocket PC’s or Pocket PC Phones. The package comes with a convertible iGPS-500 receiver and Ostia Navigation & Routing software with detailed street-level maps of the entire US and Canada, and a Bluetooth dock that wirelessly sends your accurate position information to your Bluetooth-enabled Pocket PC or Pocket PC Phone. The convertible iGPS-500 receiver is a small, slim, and highly sensitive GPS receiver, and can be upgraded to meet your multi-functional navigation needs (i.e. CF, USB, or serial with optional accessories). Ostia helps you locate your current position, find a destination or point of interest (POI) and get a route to your destination. Simply activate the GPS navigation program and begin traveling; the automated voice-prompts will tell you when and where to turn. If by chance you go ‘off route,’ Pocket GPS Navigator will reroute you to your destination from your current GPS position. With all these features and more, the PT-250 Pocket GPS Navigator includes virtually all the tools you need to navigate throughout the U.S. and Canada.

I have a Tom Tom 300 that I bought a year ago. I love it. It's accurate and is able to get me out of jams (not that i've ever been in one since I got the Tom Tom)

Get the 300.
